Filley Studio


Myron Winslow Filley (1834-1911) was a professional photographer in New Haven, CT. The son of Gurdon Filley and Polly Crampton, Myron Filley was born in Litchfield, Ct. As a young man, he became interested in the new field of photography. He opened a studio at 337 Chapel St. in New Haven, CT. He experimented with different types of photography, including stereopticon views. Other types of photography include ambrotypes and daguerreotypes. He had many glass plate negatives, some of which have been preserved by his family. Several of his photographs were reproduced in the book, This is Connecticut by Martin W. Sandler.
